Crafter’s Expo and the British Women’s Association Christmas Fair – so many goodies in one day!

Isn’t it always the way? There’s nothing on for weeks and then two fabulous events clash and you have to dash from one to the other or decide which one to miss. A couple of weeks ago on Sunday 15th December, craft loving Karachi-ites faced just this dilemma. In this case missing one of the events was unthinkable. The annual Crafter’s Expo was held at the Royal Rodale Club while The British Women’s Association Christmas Fair took place at the Beach Luxury Hotel.

The British Women’s Association Christmas Fair cum Charity Bazaar was a festive occasion with carol singers, children’s fair games and lots of yummy food stalls. The fair was held in aid of thalassaemia patients.

There were stalls by professional restaurants and cafes such as Espresso as well as goodies by amateur bakers. Snowman cookies, Christmas cakes, fried fish, pizza – this fair had something for everyone.

A variety of people were selling clothes, blankets, artificial jewellery, handmade trays, accent pieces, jams, chutneys and a host of other things. It was a fun, busy fair with plenty of great quality items on sale. There was lots of entertainment for children and overall the fair was a great day out.

Meanwhile the Crafter’s Expo also offered a huge variety of handmade goodies. The busiest hall upstairs included intricate hand-made cards, scrap-booking supplies, cute notepads, lovingly crafted photo frames and a myriad of other paper-based crafts.

The Crafter’s Expo has a selection procedure so the overall quality standard was very high. Most stalls also allowed you to place custom orders according to your own specifications.

Like the British Women’s Association Fair, the Crafter’s Expo was a bit of a crush with lots of Karachi-ites flocking to buy the hand-crafted creations.

It was a shame the two events were on the same day as people had to divide their time and money between the two. Needless to say most people attending the events ended up broke, replete and happy. Well done to both sets of organisers.
