Deepak Perwani’s collection was inspired by the fabled Shalimar Gardens and the sumptuous elegance of bygone Mughal courts. Shalimar included exquisite pieces that invoked old world nostalgia with a modern twist through block and screen printing on luxurious, regal fabrics. The collection featured traditional, vintage inspired silhouettes and entwined mirror work with intricate embroideries in diamante and pearl sequins, sublime embellishments in the form of exotic birds, peacocks and elephants, and floral ornamentation. Texturally contrasted fabrics were used in a rich and broad colour palette ranging from hues of peaches and rosy pinks to vibrant purples and true red.
FPW’s finale included models on ramp gifting long stemmed pink roses to select audience members.
