Events in Karachi: 5th-11th February 2015

It’s a happening week with diverse events in Karachi to look forward to. Theatre fans can look forward to two productions being staged in town. The NAPA Repertory Theatre is staging “Khel Khel Mein”, originally written by Khalid Ahmed. NAPA’s Repertory Theatre has been known to put together polished productions in the past and hopefully this one will also live up to their standards.

Due to it’s massive popularity, Anwar Maqsood’s “Siachen” has been extended till the month of February. Siachen is a humorous look at the antics of the army’s ‘javaan’ as they try to entertain themselves while posted on one of the world’s highest army bases. The play has received phenomenal reviews and those who missed out earlier now have the chance to catch a show!

The Karachi Literature Festival is back once again, for it’s seventh year. The festival will feature talks by artists, authors and scholars from diverse backgrounds. KLF is known to host discussions on a wide range of intellectual and literary topics. The festival also offers books at discounted prices and fun activities for the little ones to partake in! Entry is absolutely free and the festival is a happening event every year!

Due to popular Demand Siachen has been extended in Karachi for the month of February!

The dynamic duo of Anwar Maqsood and Dawar Mehmood is back with their sixth co-production, “Siachen”.

The T20 championship has started and tension between the two countries has come down and there is also a high chance that the two countries might become friends. It’s Eid Ul Adha and the Pakistani camp is waiting for its “Bakra”. Meanwhile both the camps are shouting at each other as the Pakistan India finale takes twists and turns. ‘Siachen’ depicts a much lighter side of the Pak Fauj than we are witnessing nowadays in the media.
