Events in Karachi 11th – 18th August

Enjoy the independence week to the fullest by being a part of all the exciting events this week. Salt Arts brings “Music Mixer” – an evening of freestyle music with music lovers from all over the city. Dolmen invites Instagrammers to celebrate the culture of Pakistan by organizing an Insta-meet initiative called #HamariPehchaan. Visit Koel Gallery to witness the impressive body of works by young artist Anum Jamal called “Annotations Revisited”. To tickle that funny bone this week, catch stand-up comedian Akbar Chaudry in action on stage at PACC. Show your patriotic side by visiting the grand Azadi Festival 2016 all set to take place on 14th August where a range of thrilling activities are planned for you.

1. Music Mixer


Salt Arts brings an evening of music to encourage independent community building in the city. This goes out to all the artists who have been sending them submissions for participation in the event. Come perform, meet and hang out! Bring your instruments, and join many other music lovers for some non-bathroom music making. Everyone is welcome!

2. Insta-meets-Dolmen

Dolmen Mall’s announces its #HamariPehchan initiative – an activity to highlight the positive image of Pakistan through your visual storytelling following a list of tasks to be accomplished at the mall. Take interesting pictures that capture the essence of Pakistani culture and upload them on your Instagram and help us create a more creative Pakistan.

3. Annotations Revisited

4. Let’s get Mad – Make a difference


Let’s Get MAD is a workshop for young people who are interested to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the society. After running many successful workshops, they are finally coming to Karachi, so avail the chance to be a part of this self-improvement workshop!

7. Curly Haired Comedy! Standup comedy by Akbar Chaudhry

Hi everyone! 🙂 This show is a dream come true to me. Ever since I started doing standup, doing a weekend of shows at the PACC was the ultimate goal.

Finally, on the 5th anniversary of my comedy career, that has come true.

I present to you Curly Haired Comedy, my hour long standup comedy special. 100% CLEAN and family-friendly humor. Rest assured, everyone from your bano to your nano can attend. This show will be cleaner than your hands after using sanitizer. They still leave that 0.01% behind, but there’s no dirt here!

So if you’ve enjoyed my performances with LOL Waalay, Bilingual Bitchings or bits of my standup live, please attend as we shall have a jolly good time! I will also be featuring a number of amateur comedians as opening acts!
