Shake-off the stress and lethargy of a busy week by indulging in some entertainment and fun activities taking place around the city this week. Head towards t2f for an evening of laughter hosted by improv comedy group ‘The Platoon’ and the screening of three short films by Seemab Gul. Yousuf Bashir Qureshi teaches the ABC of draping at the Commune Artist Colony and join Mano Animation Studios as they introduce Pakistan’s first hand-drawn animated film ‘The Glassworker’. 1.The ABC of draping with YBQ
A 2-Days workshop is being organized to teach you about the complete ABC of Draping in Fashion Design. The workshop will be given by Yousuf Bashir Qureshi who will also award certificates after the completion of this workshop.

2. The Platoon Presents ‘Reporting for Duty before Ramzan’
The Platoon are a specialized unit and expertise in the art of improvised theatre, instant character making and narrative progression. Music, drama, comedy, mime, stage picture are few of the things within their ammo. They are also Pakistan’s first and only long-form improvisational theatre group, with training in short-form improv as well.
For 90 minutes, dear reader, they will take you on a journey where you see stories come alive, characters showing their true natures and everything made right on the spot.Before Ramzan comes in, join the Platoon at T2F while they attempt to free demons on stage, and try to lock them in.
The show will feature multiple formats, relying on story-telling, theatre and music.

3. The Glassworker: Animation in Pakistan
Join the Mano Animation Studios team as they introduce ‘The Glassworker’, discuss their amazing Kick-starter success and share the development of Pakistan’s first hand drawn animated film.
Usman Riaz will discuss his experiences in Japan, LA and the TED conferences that led to the formation of the animation studio.
They will also be showcasing exclusive content to attendees and will be giving a glimpse into Mano’s creative process.

4. Three short film screenings by Seemab Gul
Vasl Artist’s Collective in collaboration with T2F, Arts Council England and British Council will be hosting a program of three short films by artist and filmmaker, Seemab Gul.
Seemab Gul is a visiting artist at Vasl and a London based artist and filmmaker. Her films interweave documentary, fictional and performative elements to explore socio-political stories. Seemab completed a BA in Fine Art at Surrey Institute of Art and Design in 2001. After doing a PACE course in Visual Anthropology at Goldsmiths, she completed a Masters in Filmmaking at the London Film School in 2010. She was a fellow at the National Film & TV School Clinic in 2013.

5. The Mini Bird Show
Pakistan Avicultural Foundation will be hosting a Mini birds’ show in Karachi. The categories of birds to be exhibited at the show include Budgerigars, Finches, Sparrows, Lovebirds, Cockatiels, Larger parrots, grass parakeet, Pigeons, Doves, and Ground Birds.
There will also be a competition of show birds and pet birds which will be judged by well-known international judges.
