Hair Color Trends in 2015

If you’re in the mood for a make-over and looking to add a modern vibe to your look,  it might be time to head to the salon for a new dye job.  Some funky and unique color trends have been popping up on runways and red carpets around the world.

Increasingly sophisticated techniques are being used by colorists all over the world. If you’re feeling bold, then one of these hair color trends might just be for you.  Beware, the following looks cannot be achieved at home!

This increasingly popular, French technique involves coloring the hair freehand with a brush or paddle rather than using foils, as with traditional highlights. This method gives the colorist more freedom to color the hair where he/she chooses, using strands of hair which vary in length and thickness. The result is soft, sun-kissed hair color with subtle highlights and less noticeable roots.

Platinum Hues

Icy whites and steely grays are making their way back to the red carpet this year. Platinum shades of colors such as blue and purple can also be used to achieve the same look. The key here is to give the impression of a lack of color. These colors look great on all skin tones and will ensure that you stand out in a crowd.

The technique used for babylights is similar to highlights but uses very fine, thin strands of hair. The aim is to mimic the light, sun-kissed hair that children get after spending time in the sun. Using super-fine hair strands makes the end result look very subtle and natural while adding dimension to your hair.

Rainbow Pastels

Previously the domain of punk rockers, colorful hair in pastel hues has become a fast growing trend. Shades of greens, pinks, blues, purples, basically any color you never before imagined in hair can now be used to brighten up your locks. One hue can be used to color the hair all over but, personally, we love dye jobs that bring together many colors to create a vibrant rainbow in your hair.

Not quite blonde, not quite brunette, “bronde” hair is the perfect mix of both colors. This technique fuses blonde and brunette hair color to create just the right shade for you. If you want to go blonde but are scared of the drastic change, then this is definitely an effect you should try. Bronde hair is ideal for warmer skin tones and lifts and highlights already brown hair.
