It’s World Hijab Day and we wanted to highlight some of our favourite hijab-wearing Pakistani style icons. Women who make the switch to covering their heads often struggle with how to style their hijab but there are plenty of fashion-forward influencers and style leaders out there to provide inspiration. We’ve not been able to include everyone we wanted to because some of the most stylish hijabis are very private people (Ayesha and Rabia, I’m looking at you). That said, these are some of our favourite Hijab wearing style icons:

That Karachi Girl

Alina Ehtesham blogs about fashion and lifestyle and stands out for her style sense and joie de vivre. Here seriously cool signature hijab style is draped and looped with verve, framing her face beautifully.

Rushna Shahid

Rushna is not a media personality but is certainly a style influencer in Karachi’s elite social circles. She has a great eye for fashion and a unique turban-like hijab style that sets off her delicate features beautifully.

Masarrat Misbah

Masarrat Misbah showing you can look fabulous at any age

The owner of Depilex Salons and the head of the charity Smile Again Foundation, Masarrat is a Pakistani institution. She’s proof that you can look fabulous at any age and her simple draped dupatta is a minimalist yet chic spin on the hijab.

Fizzah Rajput

Fizzah is another upcoming modest fashion blogger and one of the things I love about her is that she plays with the style of her hijab. In the same way as some bloggers play with different hairstyles, Fizzah switches up her hijab look according to her outfit, the occasion and her mood.

Zantiana Saqib

The chic Zantiana Saqib is the brains behind Keepsakes by Zantiana, one of the most stylish sources of gifts in town. Another fashion lover with an exquisite eye for fashion, Zantiana drapes dupattas or scarves over a flattering high pompadour that helps the fabric frame her face to perfection.
