Ideas Pret by Gul Ahmed, is one of our favourite high street brands. They showcased their The Floral Raj collection at FPW on 13th of March in Karachi. The Floral Raj is the latest formal collection from their bespoke line, revolving around hand-worked luxury separates in pure silks, chiffon, cotton and organza. It’ll be available at flagship stores in selected locations across Pakistan, on an order-only basis.
Based around the theme of Victorian Glasshouses fused with Mughal art, Ideas Pret intended to bring high fashion within the reach of a wider audience through The Floral Raj’s luxury evening wear. The Victorian era was a time of great exuberance, exploration and experimentation. Victorian glasshouses brought hothouse luxuries into the realm of the affordable.
The design team used linear architectural elements, Mughal figures and floral motifs on textured fabrics to translate this concept into a wearable collection that is effortlessly stylish. Elegant east meets west fusion silhouettes were delicately embellished in streamlined, chic pieces ranging from modern wraps, jackets, stylised kaftans to statement destructured pants that can be mixed and matched in myriad ways. Peplums, corset tops, voluminous sleeves, bell bottoms, flappers and brown belts were all on display as models showcased the pretty collection.
The collection moves from a subtle palette of dusky rose, ecru and white to soft, deep greys, breezy, cool blues, pastels, purples to ivory, accented with gold, silverwork and touches of jewel tones. The colour palette is geared towards the festivities of Spring and Summer.
The Floral Raj is the perfect collection for the modern woman who appreciates the craft and heritage of the subcontinent.
