Layla Chatoor is having one of her much anticipated pret exhibitions this Saturday, 16th May. The exhibition features her stunning La Dolce Vita collection as well as her Eid collection.

Layla Chatoor La Dolce Vita Collection

Layla Chatoor’s new La Dolce Vita pret collection is on my wish list. The fusion collection was featured by the Sunday Times last weekend and is simply dreamy.

 

The combination of luxe lace and delicate floral embroidery is a classic one but Layla has given the collection a fashion-forward, contemporary vibe.

This modern Pakistani pret collection includes capes, tunics and fringed dresses as well as lenghas, crop tops and sarees. One of my favourite pieces is an asymmetric lace jacket with floral embellishment. It was shot paired with denim shorts and with printed trousers and looks equally good with either.

 

Layla Chatoor La Dolce Vita Shoot

Photographer Shabaz Shazi deserves a mention for the collection’s gorgeous shoot featuring Aamna Ilyas. The leggy model was a perfect choice for the shoot’s tropical vibe. Although it was shot in Karachi, the campaign has a jet-setting vibe.

Layla Chatoor Eid Collection

Layla is also exhibiting her Eid collection this weekend. Her  Eastern pret is always a winner for Eid, with a delicate feminine aesthetic and pretty detailing.

The outfits include summery pastel tones as well as darker shades for evening wear and  are embellished with intricate threadwork, lace and pearl beading. The dupatta is never an afterthought with Layla and her dupattas feature screen printing and other accents to complement the ensemble.

The Eid collection has something for everyone, with shorter shirts and trendy pieces for more fashion-forward clients as well longer shirts for more conservative customers. Layla’s exhibitions tend to sell out fast but she does take orders so it’s worth making a trip even if you can’t get there early.
