Miraka by Misha Lakhani : First Look

You saw it here first – we’ve been hearing for months about a new accessible line by Misha Lakhani and Karachista just got their hands on some exclusive pics of the the new line, which is called Miraka. The line had a low-key launch in-store and online last week and will have its fashion week debut at HUM Showcase later this week.

Rooted in indigenous craftsmanship and artisanal techniques, Miraka focuses on ethical fashion and reflects the bohemian, minimalist aesthetics of Misha Lakhani’s signature pret.

“Miraka was born out of the desire to provide steady opportunities to skilled artisan communities and to take heirloom traditions from the heart of Pakistani villages to the rest of the world.” – Misha Lakhani

With a focus on sustainable techniques, the collection features tactile details in light, bright relaxed separates. The range includes tops, kurtis, wraps, kaftans, pants, dupattas and shalwars. The use of hand-woven fabrics and techniques such as mirror-work and rilli aim to support the craft ecosystem of the country and take Pakistani crafts to a global audience.

The color palette focuses on hues of ivory, red, black and aqua and Miraka includes polished separates for every dress code, from formal to casual. Fabrics used include Kora cotton, crepe, boski, cotton silk, raw silk and Thai and Irish Linen.

Miraka has teamed up with Miaasa for a shoe collection designed especially for the collection.

‘Our collaboration seemed inevitable because of our love of exotic, far-flung inspirations,” said Misha. “Expect statement sandals and seasonless styles that you’ll go back to over and over.”
