Exhibitions in Karachi 1st Sept – 7th September

We’ve found a whopping 17 Eid exhibitions going on this week in Karachi. If you’re looking for that perfect Eid outfit then make sure you’ve got cash on hand because Super Saturday is coming up. There are so many great exhibitions on Saturday 3rd August including Blocked, Farah Talib Aziz, Nazli Akbar, Momina Teli and a host of others. Some like Wardha Saleem start on Friday and early next week you can look forward to picking up jewellery from Allure by Mehreen Tabani and pret exhibitions by Ansab Jahanghir, Amna Iqbal and Anam Iklaaq. Bye bye savings 🙂

 

1. Blocked Textiles Eid Exhibition

Blocked Textiles is always top of our list with their exclusive, chic hand-block-printed pieces. The collection includes trendy ready to wear and unstitched ensembles, including a limited line for kids. The Eid ul Adha 2016 range uses a series of new block print patterns on new designs including quilted peshwas, cold shoulder shirts and printed short shirts. Known for their quirky blocks and flattering cuts, Blocked is a perennial Karachi favourite. The exhibition will also feature fabric home accessories including rilli bedspreads.

2. Farah Talib Aziz Eid Ul Adha 2016

Farah Talib Aziz’s luxury pret is always an Eid favourite – elegant, feminine and formal. The new collection includes tunics, wraps, gharara pants, formal lace bootleg pants and more. From luxury cotton to lace, chiffon and organza, the collection combines luxe fabrics, lace, pearl beading and embroidery in modern silhouttes.

3. Nazli Akbar Eid Exhibition

Nazli Akbar has become something of a social media sensation with her #NazliAkbarGirls campaign featuring real women rather than models. She’s spawned dozens of imitators but you can tell her pretty pastel originals from her mile off – the delicacy and detailing are simply gorgeous. Definitely worth a visit but please do note that the exhibition is NOT at the boutique.

4. Wardha Saleem Eid Exhibition and Sale

Wardha Saleem combines high fashion credentials and wearability; she’s shown at fashion weeks across Pakistan and at Fashion Scout in London but her clothes are both affordable and wearable. She brings you her latest Eid Collection of luxury wear including embroidered formals, silk block print kurtas, printed summer tunics and limited edition chic tunics. The exhibition features special discounted prices on the latest eid collection and up to 50% off on selected collections.

5. Mubashira Usman Eid Ul Adha 2016

Mubashira Usman’s elegant luxury pret features pretty kurtas and wraps in silk, organza and chiffon embellished with threadwork and pearls. She’s hosting this Eid’s exhibition in a larger space to accomodate everyone better after the huge crowds at her last exhibition. Price Range: 7,000-16,900. They will NOT be taking orders at the event but the studio will be open for orders walk-in on Monday, 5th September between 2-5pm for deliveries after September 25th. Please note this is a strictly Ladies ONLY event and they don’t accept credit cards.

6. Allure by Mehreen Tabani

Mehreen Tabani is back with her gorgeous, opulent costume jewellery – perfect for Eid, formal occasions and weddings. Personal faves include her baroque pearl jewellery and her oomphy pearl and polki necklaces.

7. PeaChic at Brands Just Pret

Brands Just Pret have stocked up on loads of Eid collections but this is one brand especially worth checking out if you have little girls. They do some adorable ethnic wear for little girls – just perfect for your little princess on Eid.

8. Momina Teli Eid ul Adha 2016

Momina Teli is becoming a firm favourite for smart semi-formals and formals. She’s exhibiting her latest collection this weekend with both day-time pastels for Eid day and darker formals for evening events and parties.

9. Amna Iqbal Eid Exhibition 2016

Amna Iqbal is something of a newbie but her pretty luxury pret is striking and beautifully finished. The lovely confections of cotton, voile and silk net are well cut and wearable – worth snapping up.

10. Anam Akhlaaq Eid Ul Azha 2016

Anam Akhlaq and Alina Osama are exhibiting a limited range of intricately detailed outfits in cotton, organza, chiffon and silk net ranging from smart casual to very formal. Price Range : rs.7000 – rs.29000

11. Enchante Festive Collection by Annus Abrar

Annus Abrar is developing something of a cult following for his intricately detailed luxury pret. Featuring beautiful threadwork and beading, his luxe collection is a cut above the average – perfect for trousseaus and formal events.

13. Cartes by Pasho

Cartes by Pasho romantic fall collection is inspired by sufi poets such as Rumi. The collection features interesting fabrics such as Irish linen and segues from smart semi-formals to heavier formals. Unusual and chic, Cartes Eid/Fall collection is worth checking out.

14. Taffeta by Seher Abdullah

Another less well-known brand, Tafetta by Seher Abdullah will be exhibiting their range of semi-formals and formals in a range for fabrics including chikan, silk net, cotton net and organza. The outfits feature both machine embroidery and handwork in a variety of cuts.

15. Samia Ahmed

Samia Ahmed is another cottage designer exhibiting her latest collection featuring trendy formals in classic eastern and modern silhouettes. Adorned with signature block prints and colorful intricate embroideries, the range is designed for the coming party and wedding seasons.

16. Bizzaro by Braathi

17. A Mystical Affair by Mehrene

Mehrene is exhibiting  A Mystical Affair this weekend. The collection features lots of lace, nets, crochet, chikans in a staggering array of pastel shades. Price Range: Rs 3000 to Rs 12,000.
