Sania Maskatiya just launched the second edit of her Winter Festive collection Lulu. I saw some of these pieces in store in recent weeks and they are simply beautiful. From formals embellished with zardozi, ari and gota work to breezy casuals with interesting detailing, this collection comes at a point when the festive season is putting a strain on our wardrobes.
It’s mid-Jan and though the bulk of the wedding season is over, the festive season in Pakistan continues till end Feb, when the weather starts hotting up. Though the rest of the season is more about GTs, dinners, teas and brunches, there’s still plenty of weddings on the way – and I don’t know about you but my wardrobe could do with something new. And what I love about this collection is that it has some lighter fabrics and colours that you can carry through to Spring/Summer.
One of the things I love about Sania Maskatiya’s pret capsule collections is the fact that she caters for a variety of tastes, ages and occasions. There are fusion cuts and traditional kurtas, velvets and chiffons, formals and casuals that you can choose for almost any occasion – from a simple tea to a wedding. Of course the more formal outfits are made-to measure but the typical turn-around time is less than three weeks and many outfits are semi-finished or ready to deliver fast.
