Celebrity Stylist Amal Qadri’s collaboration with the lovely, bubbly Anoushey Ashraf on her morning show Chai, Toast aur Host gets a huge thumbs-up from Team Karachista! Anoushey’s show on Dawn is a breath of fresh air compared to run-of-the-mill morning shows and her styling is similarly much smarter. Whereas other morning show hosts go for the “pyari beti” look, with varying degrees of success, Anoushey’s looks are contemporary, chic and fun.

We asked stylist Amal Qadri to share some of her favourite looks on Anoushey and explain how she styled each look. She started by giving a little glimpse of her styling philosophy:

“There are a lot of factors that I consider when styling someone –  the occasion, their personality, their body type and more. A client has to feel comfortable in an outfit as well as looking good in it. Styling is much more than just picking outfits and working out how to pair separates; it includes everything from hairstyles to shoes to accessories and even the way something is draped or pinned. Something as simple as switching from strappy heels to pointy flats can really change the feel of an outfit.”

“My looks are all smart, trendy & fun, with a little bit of a twist! I like dresses which I can mold and make more personal.” Amal Qadri

Anoushey Ashraf on Chai, Toast aur Host: Top Looks selected by Celebrity Stylist Amal Qadri

1. Khaadi Jumpsuit

Anoushey Ashraf in Khaadi

I choose this jumpsuit  as it was perfect for the theme of the show (hosting a party at home) and yet looks sassy and hassle free. I paired it with high wedges and, since it was printed jumpsuit with clean cut silhouette, I kept her accessories to a minimum.

2. Gulab black jersey top and dhoti shalwar

Anoushey in Gulabo

I loved the fact that this outfit was so versatile and could be worn on different occasions. To style it for the show, I got Anoushey to wear it with a fun, playful tassel scarf , hot pink bracelets and a statement ring. To give a slightly formal effect, I added height with black wedges

3. Gulabo Blue Ensemble

Anoushey in Gulabo

This is another fun piece – in a flattering solid colour with the focus firmly on the sophisticated cut. This outfit gave me a blank canvas to play with, so I glammed it up with a blue and gold choker, small earrings, a chunky bracelet and statement gold heels.

4. Daaman Olive green top

Solid colours are my personal favourites so this Daaman top was a natural pick. I sourced these eye-catching printed black and white pants for an edgy contrast, adding the chunky necklace and maroon heels to bring the look together.

5. Two Funkasia tops

Styling these two pieces was a challenge as they already had a busy look. I wanted to keep the look clean so for the black top I just added big studs and red khusas and for the blue outfit I added a thin scarf and tied it into a bow to give it a twist – adding trendy strappy heels as a finishing touch.

6. Blue Sanam Chaudhri top

I love royal blue on Anoushey as it somehow works amazingly with her personality. I paired this top with printed pants in the same color palette to give the look some dimension.

7. Mariyam D Rizwan Jacket

I loved this jacket/bootcut pant combo on Anoushey as it gave her a sleek and chic silhouette.  That pop of hot pink added just the right amount of color and to give it an extra oomph I added a choker with strings.

8. Najwa Pret

This I chose simply for the teal color and fringes which I rarely like on eastern attire. Somehow for me this outfit worked on her it gave her different and unique look.

9. Khaadi Printed Top

This print on this Khaadi top is bold but the muted palette keeps the look cool and understated. I paired it with flared black pants and an eye-catching beaded necklace.

10. Sanober Afzar

Anoushey in Sanober Afzar

The trendy embroidered pants lift this Sanober Azfar ensemble. Sleeve detailing is a major trend this season and the Sanober hits the right note by keeping the rest of the detailing understated with just that band of colourful floral embroidery. The neckline is pretty simple so I added a chunky, tone-on-tone necklace. Subtle earrings and sky-high heels complete the look.
