One of Pakistan’s leading fashion houses, The House of Kamiar Rokni showcased the brand new A/W 2018/2019 bridal collection called ‘Moonrise’ at the PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018 in Lahore. The collection draws its inspiration from moon which is universally a feminine symbol representing the system of time.  The pieces in the collection pay homage to the traditional wedding ensembles of Pakistan and the intricate work and attentive detail in the garment seeks to emulate the heirloom pieces. Rokni’s use of an almost iridescent colour palette, with muted pastels and candy shades seems to suit the thematic reference to the lunar shifts.

The House of Kamiar Rokni’s collection offers a mix of different silhouettes but the main thing that really distinguishes his collection from the rest is the 3D fans that he has used in his outfits. The use of these fans adds an unusual high fashion dimension to the outfits, giving them an eclectic and reimagined element. Rokni’s outfits are traditional with the the gota, chata pati and ornate kaam giving them a timeless feel, yet small details make them current and modern.
