Upscale Bollywood Fashion House Diva’ni opens in Lahore

Indian fashion house Diva’ni recently opened its doors in Lahore, bringing a touch of film-star glamour to the local fashion scene. A collaboration between Yash Raj Films and Delhi-based heritage fashion house KBSH Private Limited, Diva’ni focuses on bespoke bridal couture & luxury pret-a-porter.

Indian Fashion is very distinct from Pakistani fashion, in terms of both techniques and vision. Diva’ni is all about glamorous, flamboyant ethnic outfits that build on traditional craft.

Dedicated to promoting traditional crafts, Diva’ni works closely with its weavers and craftsmen from the remotest regions of the sub-continent. Their team includes zardozikars (master craftsmen), handloom weavers and hand-paint women artisans spread over Lucknow, Delhi and Varanasi.

Creative director Ms. Sanya Dhir aims to give a fresh twist to ethnic wear without losing that sense of heritage. This balancing requires a mastery of exclusive and extensive handcrafted techniques and a fundamental appreciation for age-old craftsmanship.

 

The new store echoes the brand’s love of opulence, grandeur and traditional artistry using jaali work, marble inlay and stained glass windows to provide a unique shopping experience.

 

As you’d expect from a brand with close links to Bollywood, Diva’ni regularly puts together looks for Indian actresses – most recently styling Anushka Sharma in a special sequence of the song “Sachi Muchi” in Salman Khan’s hit film ‘Sultan’. A special screening of the film heralded the launch of Diva’ni’s first international outlet on M.M.Alam Road in Lahore.
