The Untold Edition Open Mic Night

The Untold Edition is a public art project aiming to build a positive narrative of the city of Karachi through art. Our open mic invites speakers, musicians, poets, and performers. We welcome diversity of mediums to see what Karachi means to you. A past or future representation or simply emotions and nostalgia; we want positive associations expressed. Let’s veer away from what is lacking and focus on what is worthwhile, what endears us to this city and why it has so much potential.

We would like to see art that engages the audience, drawing them in, triggering nostalgia or provoking thought. We want art that raises questions about our duty to this city; that causes the audience to introspect and reflect. We want art that reminds us why we call ourselves Karachiites.

Poetry as Performance: A 5-day Slam Poetry Workshop

This month, join us for an exciting journey into the world of poetry and performance! Explore the dynamic art of spoken word poetry and discover how tone, delivery, and body movement can turn a poem into something more than words.

Find your own voice, write original poems and learn to perform them for an audience as we take poems from our notebooks to the spotlight! Our 5-day workshop includes a series of creative prompts, exercises, and videos to help children develop their own spoken word pieces – with no prior experience needed. Children will get to improvise and demonstrate the use of word play, rhymes, metaphors and phrases as they create compelling stories and poems.

So bring a pen and a friend and get ready for some slam poetry at the library!
