DanceMANDALA January 2020!
Join us for a community DANCEmandala class with Alizeh Valjee on THURSDAY evening, January 23rd between 7:45-9:00 pm! The event is donation based and open to all ages 14 and up (donations are optional and you can donate any amount); pre-registration is required.
DANCEmandala is a free form of moving as a meditation practice that facilitates healing through your own unique movement. It “invites every inch of the body to awaken, release through movement and then find peace through stillness.”
This class is an opportunity for participants to explore the various movements of DANCEmandala with the support of breath and music.
Alizeh’s approach to Yoga and Meditation derives from holistic wellbeing. For her, the breath is the most vital part of practice. She believes that “it is via the breath that we reach the inaccessible parts of our bodies to open up and remove tension.” It is through the breath that we shift our nervous system to a place of relaxation and restoration. It is with the breath that we come into a state of inward focus and calm.”

Sound Bath with Mehla Sarki
Holistic Healing with Himalayan Singing Bowls
A sound bath is a deeply relaxing, meditative experience in which, through the healing power of sound and vibrations created by Himalayan singing bowls, one can explore new found depths of relaxation, healing and self-discovery. During a sound bath; The harmonic vibrations help alter/move our brain wave state from Beta (normal waking state), down to Alpha (Conscious relaxed state) or Theta (Dreamlike state).
Sound & vibration healing is an ancient modality used to bring the body, mind and spirit back into harmony. Himalayan Singing Bowls have been used for healing and meditation purpose since thousands of years. Sound generated by Himalayan singing Bowls helps reduce stress, depression, chronic fatigue and for pain relief management as well as being used as part of the healing process for more serious illnesses. In general, it brings inner calm, higher levels of energy and aids better sleep.
Singing Bowls breathe new life to stagnated parts of body and they re-awaken the healing powers within the body. The deep vibrational sound of the bowls directly access the cellular memory to release blocked energy, held emotions and negative patterns.
How to prepare for a sound bath and what to bring?
It is helpful to keep well hydrated and keep a water bottle handy
Wear loose and comfortable clothing preferably with no metal buttons or belts.
