What’s On in Karachi 31st January to 6th February 2020

Unbelievable how we’re into the second month of 2020 already! Lined up this week is Shah Arts Emporium exhibiting their new collection featuring Kalamkar, Kaani and Jamavar shawls at Ensemble. Social issues are being emphasised in the upcoming Adab Festival along with some ground-breaking books being launched at the Arts Council. The CAP Family Carnival is back – a fundraiser for the Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP), a non-profit organisation dedicated to the cultural and historic preservation of Pakistan. Gear up to catch and grill some fish on a lovely winter eve and have a much needed bonding sesh with your kids. All this and more this week!

Adab Festival Pakistan

Adab Festival (AdabFest), will be held from January 31 to February 02 will be formally inaugurated on January 31 at 04 pm, in the Arts Council here. Around 200 speakers/performers would participate at the AdabFest including Iftikhar Arif, Arfa Sayeda Zehra, Kishwar Naheed, Aamer Hussein and others. Relevant social issues are being emphasized in this upcoming Adab Festival and some ground-breaking books are being launched. Inauguration keynote speakers are Amar Jaleel, Asif Saeed Khosa, Francis Robinson, and Maleeha Lodhi while closing keynote speakers are expected Adania Shibli, Noor ul Huda Shah, and Syed Sardar Ali Shah. Adab Festival Director and Kathak dance artist Shayma Saiyid said that Qawwali by Farid Ayaz Qawwal, dance performance and comedy would be an integral part of the event, as the concept of”Adab” is vast and inclusive of such arts.

The CAP Family Carnival is back!

Join us for a fun-filled day on 2nd February 2020!

The carnival is a fundraiser for the Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP), a non-profit organisation dedicated to the cultural and historic preservation of Pakistan. The carnival will help support CAP’s core projects including cultural and educational programming for underserved communities in Sindh and Punjab.

The effects of climate change call for creative and innovative solutions since it causes resource depletion, population pressure, climate induced migration, urban and rural issues, changes in lifestyle, changing needs, changing cultural values, and so on and so forth.

Faraar Gallery, T2F is pleased to invite you to Qudrat ke Anaasarقدرت کے عناصر Earth.Air.Water.Fire. a group exhibition comprising works of various artists and environmentalist who have showcased their creative response to climate change. Each artist, through various mediums, express diverse perspectives, about the change in the air, water, fire and earth and how it is effecting the local territories.
