Film & Music

Filmy Fridays @ Mohatta Palace Museum

The Museum invites you to celebrate the many joys and torments of cinema of yore with its first ever film club, ‘Filmy Fridays’.
Filmy Fridays at Mohatta Palace
Come celebrate Pakistani Cinema against the stunning backdrop of Mohatta Palace
With the aim to support and promote the Guddu Film Archive, Filmy Fridays is warming up with what has come to be known as the ‘Golden Era of Pakistani Cinema’; very frankly speaking, seeing Waheed Murad’s face on a 40’X40’ screen is something we are unnecessarily excited about. We hope to laugh, we hope to cry, and we hope to live a little, all to the score of some of the most memorable songs that can still be heard wherever nostalgia raps on windows and knocks on doors.
So! To old souls of all ages and to young souls who need to be taught some serious life lessons: join us for the launch of Filmy Fridays with a screening of Pervaiz Malik’s ‘Armaan’ (1966), on Friday 6th March at 7pm in the gardens of the Museum. We’re looking forward to a star-studded evening; you don’t want to miss it!
