Qavvaali Featuring Shah Jee
Enjoy a traditional evening with a Qavvali session with Shah jee, whose family has been continuously attached to Sufi orders for the last seven centuries. They have been granted permanent rooms adjacent to the shrines of Moinuddin Chishti, Nizamuddin Auliya and Alauddin Sabir Kaliyari, in Ajmer, Delhi, due to their regular services to the Sufi saints. The protégé of the legendary Ustad Bahauddin Qavvaal, Shah Jee inherited his father’s great sense of commitment to the Khausrau tradition, mastering vocal notes, instruments, as well as a deep knowledge of Sufi poetry and thought. He has taught at the National Academy of Performing Arts, and currently holds a teaching appointment at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture.

Shaan-e-Iftikhar Arif
Join in for a beautiful poetic evening centred around the legendary poet, Iftikhar Arif. Iftikhar Arif is a well known Pakistani Urdu poet, scholar and littérateur. He has headed the Pakistan Academy of Letters and the National Language Authority. He has received the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Presidential Pride of Performance awards, which are the highest literary awards given by the Government of Pakistan.
