Whats on this week in Karachi : Events on 8th – 14th December
Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, the festivities of Christmas markets are enjoyed worldwide. Karachites will be treated to two Christmas bazaars this week, one hosted by the British Womens Association (BWA) the other is the Winter Carnival organised by Talent Grabbers. The BWA Bazaar brings together a plethora of talented artisans, who will be laying out a variety of handcrafted goods including furniture, home accents, stationary items, home-made treats, and all sorts of clothes and accessories. For a mid week treat, hurry fast and book your tickets for Ali Hamza’s tour of Karachi, presented by Salt Arts this gig will feature popular songs, indie folk, western classics and more. T2F will be hosting two musical performances this week, firstly the ‘Open Mic Session’ an open platform for amateur musicians and a Qavvali session by Farid Ayaz and Abu Mohammad as a part of the book launch of “Kalaam-e-Arifaan”. Last but not least stock up on some good books with some great discounts at the Karachi Book Bazar.
1. BWA Christmas Charity Bazaar
Mark your calendars for the British Women’s Association Christmas Charity Bazaar, an annual event that all Karachites look forward to. All for a good cause, this festive occasion is fun for the young and the old, with entertainment, children’s games and lots of delicious food stalls. A fun family day for all, make sure you go with plenty of cash, as there will be lots of goodies to take home.

2. Winter Carnival 2016
Talent Grabbers brings to you the “Winter Carnival’ 2016 an amazing and unique family event lots of fun and entertainment. The event will include : Underground Band Performances, Singers, Dhol Performance, Food Court, Games, Play Area, Rap Battles, Dance Crew Performances, Fire Works and a Lucky Draw!

3. Sanwal Featuring Ali Hamza
Ali Hamza’s tour of Karachi, conceptualised under the theme of his new introspective musical direction ‘Sanwal’. Ali Hamza will be performing his popular songs, indie folk, western classics and more during this tour. Ali Hamza is best known for noori, and the band’s work with Coke Studio.

4. Open Mic Night
Enjoy a Saturday evening for a fun-filled ‘Open Mic Night’, with new and upcoming talented musicians who are working on original compositions. This event is an open platform for all aspiring musicians, just show up with your voice, instruments, and props. The best three videos from the event will be featured on T2F’s social media properties.

6.Book and Website Launch of “Kalaam-e-Arifaan”
Attend the book and website launch of “Kalaam-e-Arifaan”, a magnificent volume of Qavvaali featuring Dr. Hasan Aziz. The event will feature a discussion of the book and the website followed by a Qavvaali session with Farid Ayaz and Abu Mohammad.

5. Sibte Hasan Centenary Celebration (1916-2016)
Celebrate Sibte Hasan’s 100th year with an evening dedicated to his life and work. Enjoy a display of Sibte Hasan’s photographs from different periods of his life. Take a trip down memory lane with the viewing of the short film ‘Jab Jasn-e-Sibte Hasan Unki Zindagi Mein Manaya Gya’ by Ayesha Gazder and the short illustrated film ‘Gumnaam Mussier’ by Sibte Hasan Azad . The evening will be wrapped up by Dr. Syed Jaffar Ahmad , with a talk titled “Getting to know Sibte Hasan and His Thought’.
