Whats on this week in Karachi: Events and Exhibitions 12th -19th January

Karachi swings back into action this week, with lots of different events going on throughout the city.  This weekend we have one of the most awaited festivals of the year, KarachiEat 2017. A food lovers delight, KarachiEat is a great forum to check out upcoming and experimental food connoisseurs, as well as enjoy established names in the ambience of Frere Hall. Be sure to plan ahead, as its a very popular festival and traffic can be a nightmare! After your tummy is full, its time for some night time fun, there is a  concert on Saturday night  featuring the great maestro Abida Perveen accompanied by Atif Aslam amongst others or for a quieter evening then there is the Mehfil-e-Daastangoi at T2F. In a vibrant city like Karachi, events are not limited to weekends and breaking up a hectic week is a great stress-buster,  Salt Arts presents its Season 2 collaboration of  live music and gourmet dinner during the week, featuring Natasha Humera Ejaz and her fantastic band. You can also rejuvenate yourself with some ‘Curly-haired Comedy’,  a solo debut of stand up comedian Akbar Chaudry (of LOLwaalay fame) or the Khawatoon’s ‘Friday the thirteenth’ show. French Bazaar will also be taking place at Alliance Francaise and Zunn Basic’s Volume 2 exhibition this weekend .

 Karachi Eat Festival 2017

All the foodies out there, gear up for that time of the year, when you will have all the best of cuisines at your fingertips at one place! This weekend KARACHI EAT will be on,  a food festival built around the idea of creating a common platform for people who love food as well as some great performances on as well.

Salt Art’s Season 2, Salt Soiree 8

Wind down and relax during the week with dinner and music.  Go with friends, loved ones or colleagues and enjoy a bit of vintage Karachi and some old-world charm. Salt Arts returns with season 2, presenting Salt Soirée 8 featuring Natasha Humera Ejaz and her fantastic band.

Akbar Chaudry Presents Curly Haired Comedy

Curly Haired Comedy is Akbar Chaudry’s first one hour stand-up special. It weaves a nostalgic tale of what it was like growing up in the 90s in Karachi through a humorous take on matters ranging from Ding Dong bubble to BBQ Tonite wet tissues. If you’ve enjoyed his work with LOLWaalay, snippets of his stand-up here and there or the Bilingual Bitchings webseries, this show will focus on his personal style.

Zunn Basic Volume 2 Exhibition

House Of Zunn will be hosting the launch of its much awaited Volume  2 Collection of Zunn Basics . This collection will be priced under Rs. 6000 and  is  delicately worked and can be worn as casuals.
