Whats on this week in Karachi: Events and Exhibitions from 9th – 15th of November 2017
This week there is a great mix of exhibitions of clothes and home accents. Promising trendy cuts and fresh attitudes, two new brands will be exhibiting their Pret wear this weekend: Carmine by Sarah & Aymen and Edge by Zahra Kalim. For those of you looking for formals off the rack then check out Samia Ahmad’s Fall Winter Collection this weekend. There will also be Esque’s much awaited Autumn exhibition which has some luxurious home accents as well as a special sale on some of its pieces! Tiny Tales: Fantastically Great Women Who changed the World
Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World is a picture book which will surely inspire you and your children to pursue your passion. This month, we are celebrating the bicentenary of iconic writer Jane Austen and other wonderful women in history who have changed the world as we know it. Snippets from the lives of women from varied professions – including a scientist, an athlete, a writer, a fashion designer, a civil rights activist, an explorer and a secret agent – will show children they can achieve great things in life if they stay determined and follow their heart.

Sur Ka Safar: An Evening with Shahzeb Ali
Shahzeb Ali has been a student of the vocal tradition of Gwalior Gharana for over 12 years. His first guru was Ustad Hameed Ali Khan, with whom he spent 6 years, and later he became a disciple of Ustad Mehmood Ali Khan. At a very young age, Shahzeb has managed to grasp the unique, intricate features of the South Asian vocal tradition; his taans and layakari are commendable. He has performed on television for various channels such as Geo TV, TVOne and PTV to name a few. In addition, he is now a regular feature in music festivals such as APMC and has also served on a panel of judges for singing competitions in schools and organizations such as IAMKarachi for their Youth Festivals. Shahzeb currently teaches vocal classes at The Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi.
