As the weather gets better in Karachi, so does the need to stock up on a few autumn essentials. What’s weather change without a wardrobe change ? Saman Chaudri is exhibiting her latest collection at Ensemble this weekend, and her pretty bridal range will be available to order. You can also check out Mehr’s exhibition for something formal that will make you shine on a night out, or pick a piece or two from INSAM’s trendy affordable new line. Now that you’ve gotten your wardrobe sorted, its time for some laughter therapy! After a successful stint in Islamabad Faheem Azam, will be wooing Karachi with his stand up comedy act this weekend.  Take a journey into the heart of the city, by attending a photo-exhibition which captures the 6 districts of Karachi. Students have come together to put up their work, exploring the urban and local complexities of our city which have led to the rise of the “glocal” culture. Aficionados of the arts can also check out artist Sophia Balagamwala and Safwan Subzwari’s unique art exhibit at the FOMMA or a quiet movie screening of the thought provoking movie ‘The Narrow Frame of Midnight’ by Director Tala Hadid.

3.INSAM Exhibition : Fall Collection 2016

4.Don’t Laugh! I’m serious! Stand up Comedy by Faheem Azam

Following his superhit show in Islamabad, Faheem Azam is down in Karachi to give you a roaring time. Accompanying Azam will be the dynamic theatre actors, Sana Khan Niazi and Usman Mazhar.  Guaranteed to give your weekend a “LOL”ing start, don’t miss out on a  great time out for you and your family. Azam is well known for his theatre plays and comedy shows, and now you can have the full dose of his hysterical take on life.

5. He said. She said. – Art Exhibition

Art exhibition featuring work by Safwan Subzwari and Sophia Balagamwala. Balagamwala, is a visual artist and curator at the Citizens Archive of Pakistan, who likes to combine humour in her work. Safwan Subzwari is a an artist and filmmaker. Come check out this unique art exhibit.

6. Yeh Hai Karachi: A Film & Photo Exhibition

The School of Writing brings to you the ‘Yeh Hai Karachi’ exhibition, featuring the works of 372 students from all over Karachi. The students have focused on the themes of Peace, Tolerance and Global Citizenship, creating pieces over two intensive cycles of photography and film workshops.

The exhibit spans the six districts of Karachi, from churches of Southern Karachi to Keamari, Kharadar, Bohri Bazaar, Empress Market and the historical colonial architecture now converted to city courts and government buildings. Students attempt to bridge and understand the sociocultural factors between several areas and examine the emerging culture of public art with the exhibit spanning several spatial temporalities in the city.

7. Film Screening: The Narrow Frame of Midnight

For a chilled out Saturday night, join fellow enthusiasts for the film screening of ‘The Narrow Frame of Midnight’. Directed by Tala Hadid, the film is about a perspective of the world, post 9/11 world. The film explores changes across diverse political landscapes, military interventions and wars in the Middle East, Africa and elsewhere have been progressing at a dizzying speed, it has never seemed more important to stand still and try to shake free and clear one’s vision of the world.
